Milton Wants To Renovate Hopewell House

The proposed renovations to historic property would bring the building up to code and meet the operational needs of its use as a senior center.

The Milton City Council on Monday will consider a contract to renovate one of the oldest historic properties in north Fulton County.

The council during its meeting will consider a contract with Headley Construction Corporation to renovate Hopewell House for $632,000. Tonight's meeting starts at 6 p.m. in the Council Chambers at Milton City Hall, located at 13000 Deerfield Parkway.

Milton purchased the Hopewell House in 2011 and in 2012, reached an agreement with North Fulton Senior Services to utilize the facility as way to provide daily services to the senior population of Milton.

The work would involve bringing the facility up to current building standards and meet the operational needs of the house, which also serves as an event facility.
