Milton Roundup Celebrates City's Formation

The community will gather Saturday, Oct. 15, for six hours of entertainment.

It seems like just five years ago when it all began for the , but that's because it was. Now it's time to celebrate with the annual Milton Roundup on Saturday, Oct. 15 at .

From noon to 6 p.m., Milton residents and visitors can enjoy the entertainment, children's activities, 80 vendors and non-profit groups, according to a release from Milton's Communications manager, Jason Wright.

"The Roundup is one of my favorite events all year," said Milton Mayor Joe Lockwood. "I've enjoyed watching it grow and seeing the sense of community and excitement our visitors and businesses bring to it every year."

Free Parking – All parking will be off site at , with shuttles running continuously. The park is located off Hickory Flat Road behind .

T-Shirts: The first 250 people who bring at least two canned goods for donation to will receive a free T-shirt at the main information tent. Forget the cans? T-shirts will cost $10 for adult sizes, $8 for youth sizes.

Volunteers – Commemorative T-shirts are available for volunteers. Email Cindy Eade, Milton's sustainability coordinator, or call her at 678-242-2509.

This is the biggest Roundup yet, said John Rebar, Milton's Parks and Recreation director. It includes the Children's Arts and Activities Tent, two stages hosting entertainment throughout the day and 80 vendors and non-profit groups offering everything from jewelry, to holiday decorations, to information on local services and animal rescue groups, to barbecue, pizza, sandwiches, desserts and anything else that tickles your fancy.

There are acres of free activities, including the rock wall, moonwalks, bungee stations and, of course, the event's signature mechanical bull. Don't forget to bring cash for the helicopter rides, petting zoo and pony carousel.

"Join us and come see what Milton has to offer," said Rebar. "We can't wait to meet you all."
