Milton Moves Forward with Deerfield Park

Deerfield Park will sit at the corner of Deerfield Parkway and Webb Road.

The city of Milton will soon break ground on a new small park.

The Milton City Council earlier this week approved a construction agreement with Professionally Engineered Structures & Associates, LLC for the construction of Deerfield Park.

The company was the lowest of eight respondents to the city's invitation to bid process, which it launched on July 31.

The $138,520.85 cost will be paid for with money from the city's Park and Trail Expansion line item in the fiscal year 2013 capital expenditures budget.

The park is on the southwest corner of Deerfield Parkway and Webb Road, just one mile north of Windward Parkway.

The park, which will be about one acre, will have features such as a walking path with five exercise stations, a brick lined flag plaza with nine flags and one peace pole, two picnic tables, two benches, three garbage cans, one bike rack and one pet waste station.
