Milton Mayor Speaks to Milton Business Alliance

The group of local business owners heard about current and futures projects in the city.

Milton Mayor Joe Lockwood told members of the Milton Business Alliance about city projects on Thursday, May 17.

He was guest speaker at the Milton Business Alliance (MBA) meeting held at the Crooked Creek Clubhouse on Thursday night.

MBA member Tom Hobby said in an email, "Joe talked about current and future projects in the Milton community. The meeting was attended by members of the MBA, which are local business owners."

Hobby said the mayor's topics included the bridge construction on Cogburn Road and the new fire station on Hwy. 9 south of Publix, with a road connecting Hwy 9 and Cogburn.

He said MBA members asked about the intersections at Francis and Hopewell and at Cogburn and Bethany Bend.

Hobby said the mission of the group is "to promote and maintain a positive environment in which both new and existing Milton businesses can thrive."

The MBA's three principal objectives are:

  1. To promote and advance the economic welfare of Milton, Georgia
    businesses.
  2. To encourage the retention and growth of existing businesses while
    giving all proper assistance to new firms seeking to locate in Milton. The
    Milton Business Alliance is active in promoting positive growth and a
    sense of community pride.
  3. To provide opportunities for businesses to strengthen their position in the community through networking and advertising opportunities

"We meet every third Thursday each month for networking and community
updates," Hobby said.
