Milton Lights Up its Christmas Tree on Saturday at Deerfield Place

This is the third year for the event, which is growing just like the tree planted for the occasion.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas–OK, the stores have a holiday motif and most are playing Christmas music in the background. Now it's the city of Milton's turn to add some holiday cheer with the third annual Tree Lighting on Saturday, Dec. 3.

The ceremony will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the corner of Ga. 9 and Webb Road, in the Deerfield Place shopping center, which is home to , , and more.

The tree lighting ceremony will last 30 minutes, from 7 to 7:30 p.m., and include a performance by the Chorale and Milton’s Mayor and City Council counting down to the big moment.

After the tree is lit, good St. Nick will arrive by fire truck to the tune of “Here Comes Santa Claus.”

Take a look at the accompanying photos from the 2010 tree lighting.
