Milton Launches a Mobile Web Site for Smartphone Users

Android and iPhone users will be prompted to create an app for easy access.

Milton today launched a simplified mobile version of its municipal Web site, said Communications Manager Jason Wright in a release today.

"With mobile devices and tablets taking over Internet traffic, the City of Milton needed a simple, clean version of its Web site to ensure residents had the best, fastest experience possible when browsing," said Wright.

Users who visit www.cityofmiltonga.us on their mobile device will be automatically forwarded to the simple site. The mobile site features the most popular functionality of the full desktop version, including "In the Spotlight" news items, contact for , e-mail newsletter sign up, forms to report a problem, a staff directory and more.

The classic desktop version is also available for those users looking for specific information not readily available on the new simple site. iPhone and Android users will also be prompted to create a "City of Milton" app on their home screen, which they can use to visit the site often without having to type the full address.
