Milton City Council Meeting Assures Liquor, Beer & Wine Sales Can Start

City Council will accept certified election results so sales can start this Sunday.

While Alpharetta opted to reschedule its regular meeting a day later to approve election results, Milton City Council decided to hold a special meeting on Friday so Sunday alcohol sales can begin immediately.

Today the city announced a special called meeting at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 18 at with just one item on the agenda: A vote on the acceptance of a resolution declaring the results of the Nov. 8 referendum on Sunday Sales of Alcohol. This is mandated by law to ensure sales can begin Sunday, Nov. 20.

City Council meetings normally take place the first and third Mondays of the month, barring a holiday or special-called meeting. Work sessions are normally held the second Monday of the month, according to Jason Wright, Milton's Communications manager.
