“I am looking forward to bringing out the talent within our community so that we can get to work making our community all it is capable of becoming,” says Kunz.

As a nine-year resident of Milton, Kunz thinks that focus should be given to the cities image as a leading equestrian community as well as attracting business to the area.

“Our talent in the equestrian sector needs to begin working to drive demand for our equestrian based businesses, and we need all our entrepreneurs to begin attracting dollars to Milton from the surrounding areas.  We have much to do, but we need to begin taking those small steps in the right direction with these focuses in mind.”

Kunz is grateful to his supporters and hopes to continue garnering support in the years to come.

“For those who voted for me, I thank you.  You heard our message and now it's time we do what we say we will do, which is to work to bring in consistent revenues so that we can maintain our rural character and keep our taxes low, while at the same time providing the amenities that will increase our property values.  There is much to do, but if we all come together as a team, we stand a chance of realizing our potential."

Kunz will be replacing councilwoman Julie Zahner Bailey who has served the city from the very beginning is 2006. In a recent email sent out by Bailey she says that her time on city council has been a privilege.

“I am honored to have worked diligently on your behalf for many years prior to the city's inception and after,” says Bailey.

She also reminds readers that her job has not yet come to an end and there is much work to be done.

“While I had hoped for a different outcome in this election, I am pleased to complete my second term in December with the City of Milton in a very strong financial position, forward movement on our citywide Park Master Plans and Trail system and so many great policies and programs in place to benefit our entire community.”

She is scheduled to participate in a Milton City Council work session at 6 p.m. today, Nov. 14, which will include a presentation on the city's Hwy. 9 LCI study.
