Macy's Chooses Wills Park For Awareness Campaign

Macy's stores will match local donations from residents towards improvements or maintenance the Alpharetta park.

A national department store chain has chosen Alpharetta's Wills Park as part of its nationwide campaign to raise money for local parks.

The part has been selected for Macy's Heart Your Park initiative, which raises money and awareness for local parks across the country.

Between March 7 and March 31, customers at Macy’s store at North Point Mall can donate $1 or more at the check-out register, and 100 percent of the money will benefit Wills Park. Macy's will match the total customer donation across all stores, up to $250,000.

“We are excited that the employees of our local Macy’s promoted Wills Park to be a benefactor of the “Heart Your Park Program,” said Mike Perry, Alpharetta’s director of recreation and parks. “Through this program, and with the generous support of Macy’s customers, additional resources can be directed towards continued improvements in our largest park. Wills Park is an incredible asset for our community and is the most heavily used park in our system.”

Wills Park is among more than 550 parks that will benefit from the Heart Your Park initiative. In partnership with the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA), Macy’s stores have each selected a local park or greenspace in their community to support through the program.
