HealthSouth Wants To Build Rehab Hospital in Alpharetta

The Alpharetta City Council tonight will consider amending its Windward Masterplan to accommodate a proposed rehabilitation hospital.

The city of Alpharetta will consider amending its Windward Masterplan to accommodated a proposed a rehabilitation hospital.

The Alpharetta City Council on Monday will consider the request from HealthSouth to amend the Masterplan to allow a proposed 60-bed acute in-patient rehablitation hopsital. 

The company wants to build the hospital on 8.3 acres on Windward Parkway the east side of Edison Drive. If approved, the hospital would open sometime in spring 2015, according to city documents

The single-story, 60,000-square-foot building would have 60 private patient rooms, and the hospital would offer occupational and physical therapy services, which would also include an outdoor therapy courtyard. 

The would also offer treatment of conditions such as hip fractures, joint replacement and stroke and brain injuries.
