Georgia Senator Wants Digital Learning Available to More Students

Sen. Chip Rogers, R-Woodstock, says his bill about Georgia's digital school provides more resources, opportunities for school children.

He wants access to be increased for students who may not have the opportunity to take classes not offered at their schools, such as physics and languages like Chinese. The lower cost than filling vacant positions in public schools when funds don't exist to pay those salaries makes it attractive, and high test scores is another benefit.

He also is pushing a bill for Cherokee County to remove its non-school property tax in place of a sales tax, something he said in a recent town hall meeting that could be adopted by any county.
