Fulton Won't Raise Property Taxes

After hearing from public, commission keeps millage rate steady.

After considering a new fund to help fund Grady Hospital that would have resulted in a millage rate increase, Fulton commissioners this week voted not to raise homeowner property taxes.

Commissioner John Eaves said in an 11Alive story that the commission would not proceed based on feedback from residents.

Liz Hausmann, who represents North Fulton on the commission, told Patch earlier this month that she did not support an increase. “I think there are things we could do to reorganize the way we offer services,” Hausmann said. “We could reduce our expenses or, we could just eliminate some programs. We need to determine what our priorities are.”
