Fulton Elections Board Chairman Submits Resignation

Fulton Commission Chairman John Eaves said the departure of Roderick Edmonds presents a chance for a "fresh start" for a department that has its challenges.

Fulton County's Board of Registration & Elections resigned his position today, Jan. 11, notifying the Fulton County Board of Commissioners. Dr. Roderick Edmond's resignation is effective upon a replacement being named.

“I am grateful for Dr. Edmond’s leadership and service to the citizens of Fulton County.  I know that he will continue to make positive contributions in our community,” said Board of Commission Chairman John H. Eaves. “A change in leadership at this time presents an opportunity to make a fresh start as we continue to address challenges in our Registration & Elections department. We will immediately begin working to identify a replacement.”

The Fulton County Registration & Elections department has had issues in the past, losing its chief and being attacked for serious problems and delays in handling previous elections.
