Fulton County Wants To Increase Property Taxes

The Fulton County Commission is proposing to raise its general fund millage rate from 10.211 to 11.781 mills.

The Fulton County Commission last week voted to propose its 2014 general fund and bond fund millage rates, and the public will have three opportunities to weigh in on the proposal.

The county is proposing to increase its current general fund millage rate to 11.781 mills from 10.211 mills. It's also proposing to set its bond fund millage rate at .27 mills.

The increase, if approved, would be the county's first property tax increase since 1991.
