Free Movies Return to Milton Saturday

The Georgia Movies in the Park series will be held at Northwestern Middle School.

The free Georgia Movies in the Park series resumes in Milton on Saturday at , with "Alvin & The Chipmunks: Chip-Wrecked" on the outdoor screen.

The free family festival and outdoor movie event will run monthly on June 2, July 7 and Aug. 4. Activities begin at 7 p.m., with the movies starting at sundown. According to the National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration's Solar Calculator, sunset will be at 8:44 p.m.

Families in Milton will be able to enjoy a festival full of free children's activities before the outdoor movie begins at sundown. The festival includes: “Loveys FunTastic Kids Show" presented by NoJoe's Clown Circus, Kids Inflatables, face painting, activities, concessions and local vendors.

Sponsors include Northside Hospital Forsyth, and Southern Outdoor Cinema.

Concessions will be available, so just bring your lawn chair (low-back chairs preferred), blanket and bug spray.

“We’ve had success with a single movie and a summer concert series in the past,” said Thompson. “It just seemed like a perfect fit to continue this tradition with a movie series aimed at providing local families with a fun, free night out.”
