Donald Mitchell Starts Term on Alpharetta City Council

The downtown Alpharetta business owner will fill the unexpired term of Post 1 on council, which was left vacant when Doug DeRito resigned to run for mayor.

The Fulton County Board of Elections and Registration certified the special election to fill the uexpired term of Post 1 on Alpharetta City Council early Tuesday, and the winner of that election, Donald Mitchell, was sworn into office Tuesday night.

Once Municipal Judge Jim Matoney gave Mitchell the oath, the new City Council member took his place and began to ask questions, make motions and vote.
