Daytime, Nighttime Construction Continues on Westside Parkway

Motorists can expect some lane closures and other interruptions as the contractor races to finish the long-delayed road.

Motorists driving along Old Milton Parkway continue to see construction on Westside Parkway as the contractor races to meet a 30-day construction schedule.

, along with grading work on the shoulders and median of the road. Fulton County's Water Department even managed to bury a 36-inch water main before work began at the Old Milton intersection.

And that intersection is where motorists can see easily see work being done. On the south side of the intersection, an additional left turn lane is being added. The north side didn't even have pavement yet, so its construction is more of a clean slate.

Above it all, workers began installing the temporary signals for the intersection, which are necessary because the permanent mast arms will take several months to deliver.

to finsih the last section of Westside Parkway, and promised to complete it enough for traffic in 30 days–as long as the weather holds. Thursday has a 70 percent chance of rain forecast, according to the National Weather Service.
