Crabapple Residents Still Have Time to Share Their Vision of the Community's Future

Residents can attend open houses and Friday's progress meeting, write comments or email them so their voices are heard.

Do you have questions about Milton's new plans for Crabapple? Stop by City Hall from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. any weekday through March 29 and ask questions.

Someone from Lew Oliver's Whole Town Solution, the city's consultants, will be there with copies of the documents supporting the Crabapple Master Plan update the city is considering.

"All week we have design open house. People are welcome to stop by any time," said Michelle McIntosh-Ross, the city planner.

She said Monday's planning meeting was successful.

Preliminary design sketches presented at that meeting are posted online, accessed through the calendar item for Monday's planning meeting.

On Friday at 4 p.m., Lew Oliver will return with his team for another progress meeting at City Hall. Residents can ask questions and offer their thoughts at this meeting, too. Only two people attended Tuesday's progress meeting, and they had questions about their own land, McIntosh-Ross said.

The stated goal of the meetings is to update and retool the existing Crabapple master plan to more accurately reflect the economic, transportation and growth realities of the area.

Comments can be made via email as well as being handwritten at any of the meetings. McIntosh-Ross said all of them will be taken into consideration.

The final presentation will be made to City Council in a public meeting on April 11.

"That will hopefully summarize everything that happened at the charettes," she said.

The city planner expects they will be able to come to a consensus of the opinions that are given.

Friday's progress meeting at 4 p.m. will be held at City Hall in council chambers.
