Company Wants To Build 256 Apartment Units in Milton

Charlotte-based Crescent Communities LLC is petitioning the city of Milton to allow them to build an apartment complex along Deerfield Parkway.

The Milton City Council tonight will review a request from a company to build over 200 apartments along Deerfield Parkway.

The council meets tonight at 6 p.m. at Milton City Hall's council chambers.

Crescent Communities, LLC is petitioning the city for a use permit to build 256 multi-family residential units on 21.3 acres on the west side of Deerfield Parkway adjacent to city hall.

The council tonight will hear the request as a first reading, but will vote on the request during its Oct. 21 meeting.

The Milton Planning Commission unanimously recommended denial of the request.

The council will also consider purchasing .529 acres at 13795 Birmingham Highway from Margaret E. Dimsdale for $30,000. The land is needed to provide intersection improvements along State Route 327/New Providence Road-Providence Road intersection.
