Cogburn Road Closes Today For Bridge Replacement

Contractors will need almost three months to replace it with an arch culvert, so you'll be making detours if you normally use this road.

Cogburn Road is now closed for three months to through traffic so Milton can replace a deteriorating, narrow bridge just down the hill from the entrance to St. Francis High.

Motorists will have to take detours as contractors tear out the old bridge over Cooper Sandy Creek to replace it with a culvert with two, eleven-foot travel lanes with two-foot paved shoulders, curb and gutter with a trail on the west side in conformance with the trail master plan and a rural grassed shoulder on the east side.

So if you are driving up Cogburn Road from Windward Parkway to Alpharetta's , if you forget the road closure you'll need to make a right turn at Webb Road and take it to Hwy. 9, turning left to continue north. With few connecting roads, you'll need to drive all the way to Bethany Bend for a left turn to head back to Cogburn Road between Cambridge High and King's Ridge Christian School.
