Children Can Recycle 'Trash' Into Artwork Treasures

The Alpharetta Arts Center hosts a class for kids ages 3-5 on Thursday.

Children ages 3 to 5 can create a new piece of art work from recycled materials at the Alpharetta Recreation and Parks Department’s Create a Recycled Treasure workshop on Thursday, Sept. 22.

The workshop will be held at the from 10 a.m.-11:15 a.m., according to a release from the city. Artwork will be created in class and ready to take home and hang up.

Children and parents are encouraged to bring any old supplies left around the home such as buttons, beads, photos, bottle caps, etc. All other supplies are provided.

Pre-registration is required as space is limited and filled on a first come, first serve basis. An adult must attend with each child. Cost is $5 for residents and $7.50 for non-residents.

The Alpharetta Arts Center/Cultural Arts Division of the Alpharetta Recreation and Parks Department also features many youth and adult visual arts enrichment classes, yoga and the city band. Β For more information email Nancy Suttles / Arts Coordinator or call her at 678-297-6165.
