Applicant Wants Special Event Facility in Milton

The Planning Commission and City Council have rezoning requests for new subdivision ranging from 9 to 55 homes.

The City of Milton will hear rezoning requests for this month on everything from a use permit for a special events facility to an application to build 55 homes on a little more than 22 acres along Birmingham Highway.

The Planning Commission and City Council have hearings scheduled in the last two weeks of the month, on Jan. 22 and Jan. 29. Those zoning notices as provided by the city include:

Petition Number: U13-04/VC13-04

Location: 13895 Hopewell Road

Applicant: Jeff Runner

Request: A use permit to use the existing house and approximately five acres for a special event facility. A four-part concurrent variance for the following: 1) to delete the 8 foot high opaque fence along the south property line. 2) To delete the 75-foot undisturbed buffer and 10 foot improvement setback along all property lines. 3) To delete the three year period requirement. 4) To allow access from a local street.
