Alpharetta Plans to Plant Trees, Shrubs

A bid award is expected for plantings in the Kimball Bridge-Waters Road intersection area and other parts of the city.

Planting 95 trees and more than 2,900 pieces of groundcover and shrubs should please some Alpharetta residents after City Council was accused of not being tree friendly despite its Tree City USA designation.

The city's Engineering and Public Works Department will ask City Council tonight to award a $151,774.80 bid to Ruppert Landscape to complete tree plantings from fiscal year 2012 and work along Kimball Bridge Road and Waters Road, according to an agenda report prepared by Geoffrey Sarra, senior engineer.
