Alpharetta Picks 23 Streets to Fix

Haynes Bridge Road from GA 400 to Mansell Road tops the list of road repairs covered in the $1.7 million low bid.

Alpharetta City Council is scheduled on Monday night to approve spending $1.7 million to fix the 23 streets that are in the worst condition in the city according to a survey done in 2012.

The city maintains more than 500 lane miles of roadway. Each year it budgets dollars to the milling and resurfacing of roads.

Some of the roads need more work than others. Rucker Road, Upper Hembree Road, and Haynes Bridge Road will have 2 inches milled and be resurfaced with 2 inches of asphalt. Jayne Ellen Way and White Oak Pass will have 3 inches and 2.5 inches milled respectively and be resurfaced with 1.5 inches of asphalt. The remainder of roads will have 1.5 inches milled and be resurfaced with 1.5 inches of asphalt.
