Alpharetta FY14 Mid-Year Budget Amendment on Monday Agenda

On Monday night, the Alpharetta City Council will discuss the initiatives contained within the mid-year budget request and consider adopting the Fiscal Year 2014 Mid-Year Budget Ordinance.

From the City of Alpharetta:

The purpose of the Fiscal Year (FY) 2014 Mid-Year Budget Amendment is to amend the base budget as adopted by City Council for targeted initiatives that have already occurred (e.g. during the first seven months of the fiscal year) or are planned to occur before fiscal year-end.

Operating initiatives (e.g. General Fund) for the balance of fiscal year 2014 are estimated to total $65,200 and is funded through contingency (estimated balance of $313,961after approval of these initiatives). The annualized impact of these initiatives in future budgets is estimated to total $138,000.Capital initiatives are estimated to total $1,033,000 which is funded through a combination of ABC contributions ($975,000) and unallocated ($58,000).

Included in this total is a new project that was added since the 1st reading. Specifically, two air conditioning units (18-years old) at the Community Center are inoperable and in need of replacement ($38,000 added to the Mid-Year Budget Request). The balance in the Capital Project Fund unallocated account after approval of these capital initiatives is estimated at $481,872.

The meeting will begin at 7:30 p.m. at Alpharetta City Hall, located at 2 S. Main Street.
