Alpharetta Elementary Get 'Fired Up for Reading'

State Sen. Albers, a volunteer firefighter, helps out in the Alpharetta Fire Department program.

Sen. John Albers, R-Roswell, recently visited with students at two of North Fulton’s top schools – and Roswell North Elementary.

During his visit to Alpharetta Elementary School, Sen. Albers, who is a fourth generation firefighter and volunteer with the Alpharetta Fire Department, read to students and spent time emphasizing the importance of early childhood education and literacy as part of the “Fired Up For Reading” program, sponsored by the Alpharetta Fire Department.

“Investing in the education of our youth is imperative to securing a workforce that is able to meet the ever-changing demands of today’s innovative society,” said Sen. Albers. “Through both community involvement and parental engagement, especially during the early developmental years, we are helping our children become equipped with the tools they need to succeed in the years ahead.”
