Alpharetta City Council Recognizes Success of Milton Girls Lacrosse Team

The Lady Eagles swoop into City Council chambers for a resolution honoring the No. 13 team in the nation.

The Milton High Varsity Girls Lacrosse team repeated as state champs, continuing their dominance for another year. Things bode well for the girls next season, as few of the girls were graduating seniors.

The team: Mackenzie Lech, Francesca Mowry, Savannah Costa, Maggie Degnan, Lauren Duffy, Casey Shine, Natalie Devajtys, Annie Shenk, Molly Garrigan, MarenSmith, Paige Winsness, Elizabeth Bunn, Helen Peersen, Lydia Cassada, Amanda Lockwood, Kristen Ridenour, Gina Davis, Hannah Leigh Brooks, Annie Ruland, Melissa Teel, Heather Harmon, Brooke Wisness, Allison Thompson, Caroline Youngs and Lauren Ragsdale.

The coaches: Tim Godby, Matt Snyder, Tamra Jeffery and Ken Moore.

The team has been awarded individual honors including five Lacrosse Academic All-Americans; three U.S. Lacrosse All Americans; eight All-State selections and 13 Scholar Athletes.

The team beat Roswell High, 25-6, for the state championship.
