Alpharetta Celebrates on July 4th with Patriotic Music, Fireworks

The events start at 3 p.m. at Wills Park.

Fireworks will be flying on Monday, July 4th for the annual July 4th festivities and fireworks display at .

The Alpharetta Recreation and Parks Department hosts the event, which starts atΒ  3 p.m. on the Fourth of July.

Food vendors will be located throughout the park from 5 p.m.-10 p.m.Β  There will be no shortage of "Icee" vendors around the park, said Lisa Cherry, assistant director of the Recreation and Parks Department. The same vendors who signed up last year will be at Wills Park this year, she said during the June 23 Recreation Commission meeting.

At about 5 p.m., free children's activities will begin on the event lawn behind the Alpharetta Community Center, which will cotinue until 8 p.m.

A stage will be set up on the event lawn, featuring the Alpharetta City Band playing patriotic music from 6-7 p.m. At 7 p.m., Serious Music will play classic rock and new country hits.

Fireworks will start shooting off at dusk.

Recreation and Parks Director Mke Perry said the city will spend the same amount as last year on the fireworks show, $20,000.

"We're hoping for a good crowd," Cherry said.
