Alpharetta Approves $775,000+ To Fix Roads

Annual remilling project repairs roads in Tuxford and Arrowood subdivsions.

Alpharetta put $775,000 into fixing some road surfaces across the city in its annual remilling program. But that doesn't go too far, so roads in two subdivisions, and short sections of North Point and Westside parkways are the only roadways chosen this year.

Arrowood subdivision will get its roads resurfaced to follow up work Fulton County did on water and sewer lines, including some emergency work. The project will mill down 3 inches to make a complete repair.

Roads in the Tuxford community were chosen through the Engineering and Public Works Department's evaluation criteria. Tuxford Drive had been resurfaced last year, but the other streets in the subdivision didn't meet the needs criteria. This year they moved to the top of the list.

Baldwin Paving Co. was awarded a $775,889 contract for the resurfacing work, which included two additional stretches of roadway because the low bid was less than what the city budgeted.
