Former Milton Woman Suspects Movers of Deer Point Court Theft

The following information was supplied by the Milton police department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

A woman who moved from Deer Point Court in Milton to Woodstock suspects movers after a couple of laptops and money went missing from their house on moving day.

An officer was dispatched to a home on Deer Point Court in Milton around 5:30 p.m. on Nov. 21 in response to a possible theft. The victim said that she had hired movers on Nov. 18 who were in her home from approximately 8:30 a.m. until 9:45 a.m. They then moved her belongings to her new residence in Woodstock, Georgia and were done working around 11:45 the same day.

She said that the last time she had seen her MacBook laptop was around 8 a.m. on the day of the move. Her Acer laptop was also missing and was last seen the day before moving. She checked at her old and new residences for the laptops, but couldn't find them.

The victim’s son also reported that his wallet, money and a money pouch were missing from his bedroom.

The moving company was contacted by the victim and the owner advised her to make a police report as soon as possible. The owner spoke with both movers who worked that day and both men claimed to know anything about the incident.

The victim was only able to provide a model and serial number for one of the laptops.

Milton Mom Comes Home To Suspicious Activity

A Milton mom came home to Genesis Way after dropping her kids off at school and noticed a while plastic bag in her back yard near the woods. She hadn’t seen the bag there before.

As she moved closer to investigate, she heard what she thought was kids running through the woods near her home. She also noticed a window open with the screen missing. She picked up the plastic bag and found her sons XBOX inside. The victim checked inside her home and did not notice anything else missing.

Milton Home Burglarized

An officer was called to a residence on Deer Point Court around 11 a.m. on Nov. 26 in response to a possible burglary. Upon arrival, the officer was met by a maintenance worker and a courtesy officer who said that they found the rear door to an apartment open along with a window broken. A rock was found nearby they believed was used to break the window.

After a check of the apartment, it appeared that a computer, television and XBOX game console were missing. The leasing officer was unable to reach  the resident, so a case card was left inside the residence so the victim can contact police with information on the items taken.

The next day, the homeowner contacted police and was able to give a detailed list of the items taken but could not provide serial numbers for the items.
