Victim Waits Day to Report Theft of $3K in Cash

The following information was supplied by the Milton police department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

An Alpharetta resident waited a day to report to Milton police that someone stole a bag containing $3,000 in cash from his car while he was shopping.

The victim told police on Dec. 29 that the day before he went to the Home Depot on Windward Parkway and spent 15 minutes in the store. When he came back to his car, he saw that the laptop bag with the cash was missing. He said he might have left the car unlocked because he was in a hurry.

It took a day to report the crime because he also was in a hurry to get back to work.
