UPDATE: Milton Police Identify Victim of Deadly Shooting

The investigation continues into the Tuesday night shooting death in a subdivision off Deerfield Parkway.

UPDATE: Police have identified the victim in Tuesday night's shooting in Milton.

Milton police have identified the victim of a shooting just before 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 12 as Christopher Walker, 19.

Walker was the victim in what police say was a robbery. The shooting took place in the driveway of his residence, 320 Silhouette Court, Milton.

Visitation and funeral services have been set for Christopher Gregory Walker Sunday at Northside Chapel and Monday at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church.

"The motive for the shooting is robbery and we do not currently have any suspects," said Capt. Shawn McCarty, spokesman for the police department.

Walker was found shot in the head on Tuesday night in the driveway of the Avensong home, which is off Deerfield Parkway. He died later at North Fulton Hospital, according to Milton police.

Milton police detectives are continuing the investigation into the deadly shooting.

McCarty said just minutes before 7:30 p.m., Milton police were called to the home on Silhouette Court to investigate a person shot.Β 

He said in a news release that officers found the victim, who was shot once in the head, when they arrived at the scene. His mother, who already was at the scene, said the person responsible for the shooting had already left the scene.

The victim was taken to North Fulton Regional Hospital by ambulance, with his mother accompanying him. He was pronounced dead at 10:17 p.m., according to a police incident report.

According to an incident report, police anticipate charges of homicide, armed robbery with a gun and aggravated assault with a firearm to be filed.

This is the seventh homicide in the city’s history.Β  This is the first this year and there was one last year, according to McCarty.
