The former football player was allegedly upset over his son being thrown out of a youth football game in Alpharetta.

According to wsbtv.com, former UGA football star and Roswell resident Verron Haynes has been banned from coaching or attending his third-grade son's football games after an altercation with a referee.

The Saturday, Sept. 29, incident happened during a game at Alpharetta's North Park, during which Haynes' son allegedly punched another player and was kicked out of the game. Upset by the call, Haynes stormed the field.

A report obtained by wsbtv.com said Haynes was "restrained by other coaches and officials and was removed from the area."

It is funny how this turned into a conversation about racism instead of the principle. If people would look into what is not on the surface you would know what type of person this man truly is. I was at the game that day, and I saw how Mr. Haynes conducted himself. It certainly was not in a manner that I want my children to witness again. Furthermore, this man has an arrest record dating back to college days, but I guess that is not relevant. The fact that David Scott above referenced his latest arrest last July was in fact battery charges against his own wife whom now has filed for divorce for adultery against him this March according to the Fulton County Judicial Records that are PUBLIC RECORD. Also, noted above is another lawsuit in Florida. By looking at the charges, where does anyone get off on this man being moral and a upstanding role model? It looks like another mess he has got himself into with another woman. I know for a fact after that day, my son or the rest of children will not be returning to the AYFL to be around men like him are supposed to be "role models" to my children as well as others. What a joke. I don't think racism is the underlying issue here, I think the underlying issue that is Mr. Haynes has other problems going on under the surface that are not being addressed here that affect his mental state such as that day at the game in front of children. Let's pray he receives professional help.

It is despicable and saddening that not only has the point of the unfortunate situation been overlooked; it is inappropriate for individuals to post the personal content and information of others. My son was a player on Hayne's team and although it was not my wishes to see anyone ejected from the game, I discussed this with the other families and it was not fair for Verron and his son to be singled out. There are many witnesses that saw Verron's son being hit, however, it was not shared. The young man was ejected only after he defended himself and his father did not make any threats to anyone. Verron was upset and the injustice shown to his son and asked that all the players be ejected who were playing dirty. I find these forums and media to be beneficial on many level, but used for such a wrong purpose when people go the extra mile to "expose" people. I am disappointed in the violation of privacy. State your opinion and move on.

Sounds like you are taking this a little personal, jennifer. A public forum is just that...public! The right of free speech is in effect, therefore if people know what extramarital dirt verron haynes has got himself into, this is a place that it can be said. And btw I saw the complaint in Florida he is being sued for a few months ago .... WOW....Sure hope the media doesn't pick up on that mess. This forum has been one to uncover the type of person Mr. Haynes truly is and that this incident at the football game wasn't the first and won't be the last. Just think something should be done about it. People have the right to know public information about this man. Nothing posted here was private.
