Tossing Drugs Out Car Window Attracts Attention from Alpharetta Police

The following arrest information was supplied by the Alpharetta Department of Public Safety. It does not indicate a conviction.

An Alpharetta man just drew attention to himself when a a prescription drug bottle was allegedly thrown out of his car window after a marked Alpharetta police car pulled behind his vehicle traveling eastbound on Mansell Road just past North Point Parkway at 5:40 p.m. on July 6.

Once the officer in the K9 vehicle saw the bottle tossed out of the car, he turned on his blue lights to make a traffic stop as the driver pulled into the Waffle House parking lot.

At first the driver denied throwing the prescription drugs out the window, but after the passengers denied knowing or seeing anything, one of the passengers spoke to him. Then he changed his story and admitted not only that he bought the pills and tossed them out of the car window, but also that he had an outstanding warrant in Fulton County. The drugs were identified as propanolaol hydrochloride 20mg, which the incident report said is a dangerous drug.
