Thieves Use Fraud to Steal $12K from Milton Business

The following information was supplied by the Milton police department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

A Milton couple's grading business was victimized by $12,600 through fraudulent debit card use and forged checks.

The wife was checking the online statement for the business when she spotted nine transactions that hadn't originated from their company. The fraudulent charges were made over an 11-day period earlier this month.

Charges were made in Canton, Morrow, Covington, Smyrna, Cumming, Atlanta and in Mississippi. Walmart, Home Depot and Lowe's were among the businesses where fraudulent use was made of the company debit card or counterfeit checks.
