Theft Makes It Hot for Medical Office Employees

The following information was supplied by the Milton police department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

A business on GA 9 in Milton might have had the copper coils in its three HVAC units stolen long before they were noticed.

On March 14 employees of Emory Johns Creek Physicians learned about the thefts when the manager at Katy's Car Wash, a neighboring business owner told one of the employees she saw only parts remained of the HVAC units, which are at the rear of the building. The employees had noticed the air conditioning was not working on that day. That employee notified her manager, who contacted police on March 15.

The business did not have serial numbers for the copper coils, valued at almost $7,000, but only had numbers on the parts left behind, the data plates, compressors and fans.

Three Handguns Missing From Milton Home

A Milton man is missing three handguns from his home valued at $2,500.

The victim reported to Milton police on March 16 that the last he knew they were in the home was on March 5. His three sons did not know where the guns were.

He said the guns were kept in a kitchen cabinet, in his nightstand and in a locked case in his bedroom.

Nothing else was reported missing from the home, and no signs of forced entry were found.

Milton Man Keeps His Firewood, But Loses His Profits

A Milton man was at home on March 12 counting cash from his business when a white Dodge truck with three men stopped at his house. They asked him about the firewood for sale on his lawn, and when he told them the price, one of the men asked for a receipt.

The three men followed him into his house, and as he wrote a receipt he saw one of the men enter his bedroom. When he asked the man why he was there, the suspect said he was sick.

The three men then began acting very nervous, handed him $100 for the firewood and left, saying they would pick up the firewood later. But then the victim discovered that $700 was missing from his bedroom.

The Milton police officer who took his complaint advised him to call 911 if the men return.
