Suspect Names Released After Failed Apple Store Break-In

Alarm at North Point Mall leads police to arrest three suspects.

Three Tennessee men who police say fled the scene in a Jaguar remain jailed after a failed break-in at 's Apple store at 2 a.m. today, Nov. 4.

  • Jarrius Dunn, 18, of Memphis, Tenn., burglary-forced commercial and possession of tools to commit a crime;
  • Bacardi Evans, 21, of Memphis, Tenn., burglary-forced commercial and possession of tools to commit a crime;
  • Salaam Ali Starks, 23, of Memphis, Tenn., party to a crime and driving while license suspended.

Alpharetta Police responded to the alarm call from the store. Within two minutes of the call, they found a glass window was broken at a door to the mall near the parking deck.

An employee at the mall told police he heard a loud bang and saw two men running from the front of the store. Mall security told police they had seen a red Jaguar leaving the area earlier. Police found the car going westbound on Haynes Bridge Road. Mall surveillance video showed two men break a mall window, enter the mall and then try to break the Apple store's window with a sledge hammer.

The car was stopped on Haynes Bridge Road. Three men were found inside the car, along with a sledge hammer that matched what was seen in the surveillance video.

An news release said the men say they randomly chose the North Point Mall Apple store as a target on the Internet and drove to Alpharetta. One of the suspects said they needed to β€œget bond money” for some of their friends in Memphis, according to the release. The suspect said they were going to steal as many products as possible and sell them.

One of the suspects is on probation. All three suspects remain in the Fulton County Jail.
