Sporting Goods Store Employee Charged with Felony Shoplifting

The following arrest information was supplied by the Alpharetta Department of Public Safety. It does not indicate a conviction.

A Dick's Sporting Goods employee was accused of voiding 28 purchases over a 6-day period earlier this month. The clothing was brought to her register by the same family member each time, but payment was received for only 5 of the 33 items.

A loss prevention officer reported the suspect was seen on store security video running the cash register the four transactions – three on the same day – with the same family member making the purchases. Out of 33 items taken from the store, payment was received for only 5 items. The suspect, according to an Alpharetta police officer’s incident report, voided a total of $1,254.88 worth of clothing.

Kimberly Nicole Rowe told the officer that she controlled the debit card used for purchases, and no one else would know about the transactions, or that she sold the items.
