Sheriff's Office Looking for Robbery Suspect

The Sheriff's Office is looking for a man who allegedly robbed a woman in South Forsyth County close to Milton.

is asking for your help to catch a man who is suspected of robbing a woman at gunpoint in South Forsyth County on Wednesday, Oct. 26.

In a news release, the suspect is described as being a black man, approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall with a slight build. He was last seen wearing a grey or silver hoodie that was unzipped and a black shirt.

According to Lt. Col. Gene Moss of the Enforcement Bureau, a 40-year-old woman had just dropped her child off at located at 7545 Industrial Court off Hwy. 9 in South Forsyth County, when a man approached her armed with a handgun. The center is three quarters of a mile south of the Francis Road-Hwy. 9 intersection near Milton.

The woman told deputies that he pointed the gun at her waist and ordered her to give him her purse. When she told him she did not have a purse with her he demanded her wedding rings which she gave to him. The man fled on foot towards Highway 9 and McFarland Road.

Authorities canvassed the area with the help of the agency's K-9's and deputies also talked with several witnesses who were in the area at the time.

No one was injured in the incident that happened around 2:22 p.m.
