Police Release Photo Of Trailer, Vehicle Involved in Fatal Wreck

Investigators with the Georgia State Patrol believe it's possible the driver was not aware of the tire that came loose on the trailer, which fatally wounded Alpharetta resident Brian Edward Durst while he changed his tire on I-75.

The Georgia State Patrol has releasing a combined photo of what is believed to be the vehicle and trailer involved in a fatal crash on Monday that killed a 53-year-old Alpharetta man. 

State troopers believe a tire from the right side of the boat trailer came loose and struck Brian Edward Durst of Alpharetta while he was changing a tire on his vehicle on the southbound side of Interstate 75 at mile marker 198 in Lamar County.  

The victim was not hit by the trailer.

The picture was taken from the car camera of a Lamar County Sheriff’s Deputy vehicle. 

Investigators believe that it is possible that the driver was not aware of the tire coming loose, and troopers are seeking to interview the person driving, the agency said in a press release
