A nanny at a North Bethany Creek Drive home returned to the home with the family's children after being out the morning of Aug. 20. During that time, a thief apparently stole computers, an iPad, a couple of iTouches, a Blu-ray player and a couple of Xboxes.
The nanny told police she did not set the alarm when she left at 8:25 a.m. When she returned at 12:45 p.m., she saw a TV on the couch and called the children's mother to ask her about it. The mother asked her to check the basement, and that's when the nanny saw a TV was missing. That's when the mother called 911 to report a burglary.
Investigating officers found a window off the back deck open, and evidence that someone scaled the deck to gain access.
More than $4,500 worth of electronics was reported missing from the home, along with bedsheets.
Prior to this call, the investigating officer received a call from a homeowner at South Bethany Creek Drive to report that a man had come to the front door, rang the bell and then tried to gain entry to the home. When the homeowner came to the door, the man said he was "Looking for Mr. Johnson," according to the incident report. The man then left the home and started walking toward North Bethany Creek Drive.
