Months After Car Theft, Ex-Girlfriend Arrested as Suspect

The following arrest information was supplied by the Alpharetta Department of Public Safety. It does not indicate a conviction.

An Alpharetta man learned a tough lesson about who to trust after loaning his Chevy Blazer to an ex-girlfriend. She was supposed to return in three hours. After a week and a half, she still hadn't returned the SUV.

That was in late March and early April, but on July 17 an officer was sent to the White County Jail on the Alpharetta warrant that charged her with stealing the vehicle.

Diana L. Turner, 43, of Alpharetta, was charged with theft by taking motor vehicle, and remained in Fulton County Jail on July 24.

Once he stopped the car, which had kept driving away from the exit, he asked the 18- and 19-year-old men what they were doing. They said they were lost in the neighborhood, but both of them had droopy eyes and were acting very confused, the officer's incident report stated.

When the driver refused to allow a search of his car, the officer called a K-9 to the scene and it alerted to two spots on the car. A multi-colored glass pipe in the glove compartment contained suspected marijuana and residue. A glass jar also was found that the officer said contained suspected marijuana.

The Canton and Alpharetta teens were arrested and charged for possession of marijuana and drug relatd objects.
