Milton Women Victims of Attempted Fraud

The following information was supplied by the Milton police department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Two Milton women reported cases of fraud to Milton police on Nov. 18.

A Milton woman reported to city police on Nov. 18 that someone has tried to fraudulently use her Macy's credit card in three different states, but so far had been unsuccessful.

One of the attempts was made on Nov. 11 at Perimeter Mall in Dunwoody and another attempt was made in Plantation, FL on the same day. A day later another unsuccessful attempt was made in Pittsburgh, PA.

The victim said her identity was used to attempt to get a credit card through Barclay Financial also.

A second woman told an officer that Pace Payment Systems had contacted her on Oct. 30. She said the representative told her someone attempted to open a business with her information. Everything on the business application the officer shared with the victim was correct except for the phone number and address. The business was named Essential Heating and Air, according to the police incident report.

The Milton woman contacted the three credit bureaus and had her credit cards flagged. No other fraudulent activity was reported.
