Milton Mom Chases Thief, Gets Bike Back

A Milton mother didn't let a thief get away with taking one of her family's bicycles on May 6.

It was just after 5 p.m. when her children told her someone had just entered their open garage and took a bicycle, according to an incident report by Milton Police Officer P. Fregosi. The Red Hart Lane resident said she ran outside and followed the suspect. She caught up with the suspect in the Orion Apartment complex and yelled for him to get off the bike. The suspect dropped the bike and ran of on foot, and she was able to take the bicycle back home.

Milton police were unable to locate anyone matching the description of the teen suspect.

Construction Equipment Stolen in Milton

A Duluth man reported the theft on May 2 of a Case skid steer loader left at a construction site on 13100 Morris Road.

The victim told Milton Police Officer C.A. Ward that he last saw the piece of equipment on April 30.

Single Diamond Earring Missing from Milton Home

A Hopewell Grove Drive woman reported that one of her diamond earrings was missing from her jewelry box the day she returned home from a trip.

On May 4, the victim told Milton police she discovered the $1,551 diamond earring was missing from the jewelry box where she placed it on April 27.

Her husband said he was home with the house cleaning crew except for 20 minutes to pick up his son from school, according to Officer K. Grey's report.

The cleaning crew denied taking the earring.

Alpharetta Woman Crossing Yellow Line Arrested in Milton

An Alpharetta woman whose vehicle was seen crossing the centerline of GA 9 was cited for DUI.

Milton Police Officer J.M. Hickerson said in his report that he was driving south on GA 9 on May 5 at 12:51 a.m. when he observed a black GMC Yukon driving on and over the double yellow lines in front of him just south of Webb Road. He performed a traffic stop and the driver stopped in front of the Kroger just north of Windward Parkway.

Nancy D. Griggs, 53, of Alpharetta, was cited for DUI-Less Safe and failure to maintain lane.

Teen Cited for Marijuana Possession in Milton

A 16-year-old Milton High student was cited with possession of marijuana after a Milton police officer found him with his girlfriend in the unfinished Lake Haven subdivision off Freemanville Road.

Milton Police Officer C.A. Ward was patrolling the subdivision on May 6 at 10 a.m. when he noticed a Toyota Highlander parked at the end of one of the streets. He then saw the juveniles standing outside of the vehicle.

According to the incident report, the male juvenile said they were hanging out when his car went dead. After questioning, the juvenile said he thought he had a glass pipe in the trunk area. Two glass pipes were found, along with two plastic bags containing suspected marijuana.

The female juvenile was given a warning for underage tobacco use, and immediately discarded her cigarettes, according to Ward's report. The male juvenile was released into his mother's custody, and she took the female teen to school.
