Milton Man Identity Fraud Victim for Years

A Milton resident filed an identity fraud report on July 15 with Milton police after a credit bureau told him someone else opened seven accounts in his name.

The accounts were opened between September 2011 and February 2013. The victim said he had not victimized financially, but the credit bureau wanted him to file the police report as he had his credit flagged.

A Fawnvista Lane resident told Milton police she was the victim of identity fraud for the second year in a row after learning someone had used her identity to file a 2012 tax return.

The victim told police on July 15 that she believed an ex-employee was to blame, and provided what she believes is that persons' last known address.

Collection Agency Wants $1,069 for Someone Else's Cable Bill

A Belleterre Drive resident was being asked by a collection agency to pay a $1,069 past due bill for a Comcast account she never opened.

The woman told Milton police on July 18 that the collection agency said five pieces of Comcast equipment were never returned by the person who fraudulently used  her identity.
