Mansell Road Traffic Facing Heavy Delays with Signal Work

A GDOT contractor is replacing traffic signals on the heavily traveled east-west route, and motorists will feel the effects.

Avoid Mansell Road if you can today and Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., as contractors are replacing traffic signals along Mansell Road, closing lanes at ech intersection.

Assistant City Administrator James Drinkard said the city was notified this morning that a contractor working for the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) will be replacing traffic signals along Mansell Road between Kingswood Road and North Point Parkway today and Friday. Moderate to heavy traffic delays are expected in and around the affected area during these times.

The GDOT contractor will be closing lanes at each intersection as they replace existing traffic signals.  Additionally, rolling signal outages will occur, and Fulton County police officers will be directing and controlling traffic. City of Alpharetta representatives are on scene but are in no way involved with the project.
