Man Shot in Alpharetta Overnight Tuesday

Police are working to determine the motive behind the shooting in the Planter's Ridge community that left a man injured.

Alpharetta police investigators are working to piece together what led to an overnight shooting that injured one man.

Alpharetta 911 at around 3:22 a.m. received multiple calls from residents who said they heard gunshots in the Planter's Ridge community, said Alpharetta Department of Public Safety Spokesperson George Gordon.

Alpharetta police and fire "quickly responded" to the call and discovered a male victim in a parking lot at 1538 Planters Ridge Lane, Gordon said.

The man had multiple gunshot wounds and was transported in stable condition to North Fulton Hospital to be treated for his injuries.

Gordon said police have yet to discover the identity of the shooter who they think fled the scene on foot.

"It is unknown at this time if the victim and shooter know each other or if this was a stranger on stranger crime," he added. "We are conducting a full investigation in an effort to identify and locate the person responsible for this act of violence."
