Man Dies After Cumming Street Wreck

Alpharetta police have identified the victim of Wednesday night's crash.

UPDATED: A man who was driving on Cumming Street in Alpharetta died after an accident at 11:41 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 1, according to the Alpharetta Department of Public Safety.

Jason Dapice, 36, of Alpharetta, was the victim of the crash, said George Gordon, spokesman for the department.

Investigators report that a white Toyota Corolla driven by a male driver eastbound on Cumming Street and west of Clairmont Avenue left the roadway and struck a telephone pole. The vehicle caught fire after the accident.

When Alpharetta police officers arrived, they pulled the man from the car and began rendering aid. Alpharetta firefighter/rescue personnel arrived next and continued emergency aid. The main was taken to North Fulton Hospital in critical condition, but was pronounced dead at the hospital later.

The Alpharetta Department of Public Safety’s Traffic unit is conducting the crash investigation.
