Lincoln's Face Shows $100 Bill Was Counterfeit

The following arrest information was supplied by the Alpharetta Department of Public Safety. It does not indicate a conviction.

A 28-year-old woman was arrested for first degree forgery after an employee at a store noticed Abe Lincoln's image showing under Ben Franklin's on the $100 bill used to make her purchases.

Alpharetta police responded to the call form the store, and tracked down two suspects in the store. After the store employee identified them, the officer questioned the women and asked to see any additinoal money. Another three counterfeit $100 bills were found in the stack of bills she handed over.

Kristy Latrice Mitchell, 28, was arrested for first-degree forgery on April 20. She was released on April 22 on $10,000 bond from Fulton County Jail to await facing the charge.

Suspect Found in Cobb County Jail

A 41-year-old suspect in a forgery and identity fraud case was found at the Cobb County Jail on April 19.

Alpharetta police picked up the suspect, who was wanted on three warrants: two counts of first degree forgery and one of identity fraud.

Jeffrey Alan Schreiber was arrested on April 19, and was released from Fulton County Jail on April 21
