Juveniles Caught Trespassing Suspected in Burglary

Milton Police investigate multiple burlgaries.

An off-duty Alpharetta Police officer who serves as a courtesy officer for the Villages at Devinshire apartment complex stopped two juveniles on March 10 who were found to be trespassing and were in possession of marijuana or tobacco. The case developed into a burglary investigation when the younger suspect said the other juvenile had burglarized an apartment.

When Milton Officer J. Griffin arrived, Alpharetta Officer Unger had the 14- and 15-year-olds sitting on the curb. The two were searched, and one was found with some cigars. While the other juvenile was being searched, a glass pipe containing suspected marijuana residue fell out of his pants leg.

The first juvenile was cited for trespassing and possession of tobacco by a juvenile and was released to his parents. The second juvenile was found to be wanted on a warrant for failure to appear, and was taken into custody on that charge and on trespassing and possession of less than one ounce of marijuana.
